Still Waiting...

It looks like Baby Anna/Ella/ Whateverelse-a wants to be a 7-11 baby. It's only an hour before midnight and at 9:00 pm Nicole was dialated to a 3 and 60%.- I'm guessing the baby won't progress to delivery soon enough to have a 7-10 birthday.

Richard and I made silent bets as to when Baby will make her arrival. I thought 4 a.m. Richard says 6 a.m. Nicole wouldn't place a vote or listen to ours (thus the silent bets)- probably because she couldn't stand one more deadline to pass unaccomplished.

This morning the Buhlers arrived at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. as told to be induced. Things are pretty shifty at that place though and the nurses said they couldn't monitor her or start anything until 11:00. She and Richard wandered all around- even went to Fred Myeres twice (against the hospital rules I might add). Finally they started her at 11:00 and now 12 hours later the contractions are getting pretty tough, although you couldn't really tell by Nicoles face. She's such a calm and non complaining laborer- GOOD WORK SISSY!!!

It's finally going to happen, this baby is on her way OUT!!!

Pics below- Richard is working hard to keep Nicole laughing
and comfortable.
He knows a really neat stool shimmy- but I didn't get a picture of that.
Nicole is making the best of everything-

especially the new toga look-
she's always been a trend setter you know.

No room in the Inn

c
It was 100 degrees today. Amy and I went to the movies to keep cool and tried to convince the baby to come by playing relaxing music "down there" (as pictured above).

I was scheduled to go to the hospital at 8:00 pm. Richard and I went on 1 last date to get some frozen yogurt (with amy of course) and then drove straight to the hospital. 5 minutes into the drive we get a phone call from an Oregon number on Richards phone. He says "I'm sure its someone from the ward." So I picked up and the charge nurse from Newberg hospital told me that too many people went to into labor and they are out rooms. My induction is now rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 6am.

The airbed Amy has been sleeping on died. Since she won't be sleeping on my bed tonight we went to buy her one. And again I repeat - NEVER ASK A VERY VERY PREGNANT LADY WHEN SHE IS DUE. She might be 10 days overdue, on her way home from the hospital, where she has just been told that her induction is on hold until tomorrow. And she might just lose it, right there in line - and it will be pretty awkward for you - if you were the cashier that asked that pregnant lady when she was due and she said "10 days ago" and started to cry.

HOPEFULLY we have GOOD NEWS tomorrow (: pray for us (:

still noth'n

.
Baby was not born on her cousins birthday (july 8).....so sad she couldn't share her big day with this little princess (we love you amber bamber)

I might have tricked you into thinking we had the baby - going a whole day without whining. But my sister's been keeping me busy busy busy.

We've tried all methods to induce labor naturally. Pineapple, basil, licorice, spicy food, accupressure, riding a rolly road, evening primrose. We also tried "shiny object syndrome" ie, trying to get baby to come out to get a closer look at my flashy new sparkle sparkle toe nail polish........... I am still not willing to do castor oil. Nothing works YET.......

We also went to water aerobics yesterday - i wish we had a picture of that.
And we went to the temple - where i got asked TWICE if I was having twins and at least 5 or 6 times when I was going to POP. Don't people know pregnancy ettiquite. NEVER EVER ASK A REALLY HUGE PREGNANT LADY IF SHE IS HAVING TWINS AND TRY TO AVOID ASKING HER WHEN SHE IS GOING TO POP. she just might cry if she is 9 days overdue.

Oh yeah, the temple worker in charge was worried that I was going to give birth while there. She came over and told me "not to do anything bad" After the session she said her husband was a doctor and he had delivered thousands of babies, but she hasn't delivered any. funny.

Enough is enough. Getting induced tonight - hopefully we go into labor before then - everyone start praying that Anna/Ella/Elizabeth at least starts to move down toward the shiny toe light................

We thought of my post from june 28th when we saw this in a book:

we are off to prepare freezer meals, because that's what sisters do best.

mama's girl

Well if behaviour in the womb has anything to do with your kids turn out - this one is going to be mama's girl. We are now 1 week over due.

Actually I'm just used to being pregnant and it still hasn't slowed me down. We had a fun holiday weekend. Pictured above is a sketchy overpass we saw downtown portland while doing our favorite 4 mile bridge walk on sunday night. Walking does not put me into labor.
We ditched the ward 4th of july bfast on monday morning (so sick of people asking me why I'm still around) and stayed in our New Yankee Workshop building stuff. Squatting for prolonged periods of time does not put me into labor.
I finished a trellis
Richard made a tomato support.

We weeded out our onions at the community garden. All 300 of them. wowsas, that's alot of onions.
Then we went shoe shopping for richard, ate corn on the cob for dinner, and I walked 1.5 miles to get a redbox movie (again - walking doesn't put me into labor).
come on out baby come on out. i've got a 3:00 apt today with the midwife - we'll see what she says.

I went to water aerobics today - which was so much fun, and at 3:00 I go to the midwife/doctor. We'll see what the team has to say....................hopefully the baby has at least moved down.

What do you do when you are 5 days over cooked???

Well, mostly I just eat, workout and piddle around the house. But more specifically yesterday:

We harvested the broccoli from our garden and made the most delicious broccoli stuff ever (recipe upon request), can't wait for that cauliflower to keep grow'n!

We picked raspberries and blueberries (a very patriotic feast it was). Richard picked double what I did because I couldn't stop feeding the baby......(its an all-you-can-eat-while-you-pick-u-pick-farm).

I ate too many cookies (of the EL fudge variety) from my mom (thanks for the package mom) and spun salad from the garden with a foreign salad spinner (all the labels and directions were in swedish or something, Richard, the engineer, couldn't figure out how to use it. Don't worry mom, I figured it out and it rocks.)

We are in the process of making another trellis and a super d-duper tomato support. Considering breaking the sabbath today by working on it. Maybe better not because it might extend the pregnancy. We don't want to push our luck.

We went to the Mollala Buckaroo with cutest cowgirls that ever were (thanks for the good times Puff's; we love you guys). After the rodeo we watched one of america's best fireworks displays. Richard was bored - but kept entertained by letting a 3 year old and 4 year old take some awesome pics for us.

3 days over not any lower

well, still doesn't look like she's moving her way down. still no contractions. I think richard is more ready than I am (mostly because he thinks when the baby comes its going to be a great vacation.......uh yeah.....) . Im still going to the gym (now that I have free time I go for a good hour and a half everyday), working in the garden (who says you can't pull weeds when you are pregnant), digging in the pit that will soon be a patio, and puttering around the house. I'm still sleeping through the night except one potty break at 4 am. And of course, I'm still enjoying the extra 300 kcals per day (: I feel just fine, its only in the 50's and 60's - so I don't have swollen feet anymore. Next week we might get another glimpse of summer - probably 90's all week. I'm hoping she's out before then. But until that time its all about attitude right?
